Talitha Marsman Ruiz
Talitha ‘Mama Tera’ Marsman Ruiz — mountain and island — is a Curaçao-born, with roots in the Andes, community organizer and artist who works with the written and/or spoken word, and with papermaking as a medium of relation. Plants are vital to her work, as they offer core ancestral wisdom, guidance, and companionship. More specifically, Talitha honors and works with the Banana plant, the Achiote tree, the Agave plant, the Coca plant, the Tobacco plant — and more friends yet to come. Talitha is currently in the process of reclaiming her earthly form and divine femininity after years of dissociation due to sexual violence.
